Artist Bio
Originally from northern California, St. Aubin and her family moved to the east coast where she lived for almost 20 years before relocating to Colorado where she currently resides with her family.
Shortly after their son was diagnosed with cerebral palsy, St. Aubin left her career in victim advocacy, to spend more time at home, and turned her passion of art to the medium of designing collectible jewelry.
The designs allow her to incorporate beautiful materials from around the world. She is inspired by physically handling each component and uses high quality materials in all her work, including: Balinese and Thai Hill Tribe Silvers, Swarovski Crystals and Pearls, semi-precious stones, artisan hand-blown glass, and other sterling silver components. Her pieces involve careful planning and designing to create the look wearers appreciate. She mixes, matches, sizes and resizes, and frequently re-works the lay-out in order to complete the geometric designs that appeal to her collectors.
Each piece is expertly handcrafted to catch the light with optimum sparkle and is crafted in a way that makes a statement. St. Aubin believes it is important to design creations that reflect a woman’s inner strength, beauty, femininity and individuality. St. Aubin says the most important compliment she can receive is seeing women wearing her jewelry.
From the Designer
First, let me say thank you for taking an interest in my designs. Designing jewelry came by way of circumstance, encouragement and a lifelong love of putting my artistic touch on anything I could.
After having grown up on the east coast, I am currently residing in Colorado, and am married to a wonderfully supportive and patient husband. Even when he had no idea where I was going with my jewelry or why I wanted to pursue it, he stood by and supported my every move. Our circumstances changed after our oldest son was diagnosed with cerebral palsy. We decided I would stay home to ensure our son was getting the best possible care in every sense.
In staying home, I felt like I still needed to do something in addition; which is funny considering how much it actually takes to take care of everything at home. Many people had been commenting on the pieces of jewelry that I had made for myself and for some others. Finally, one friend commented on a bracelet I was wearing (and had received numerous other compliments on), and she asked why I did not start making jewelry for others as a business; so I started. That was in 2003.
Gina St. Aubin designs, is only possible because of the love, support and help I receive from my family. Whether setting up for a show, babysitting, letting the laundry pile up so I can design pieces or whatever it may be, my husband, our children, and my parents are all patient, understanding, supportive and helpful enough to jump in and do whatever they can to make everything possible. For that, I believe this is a family business of care and concern not only for the reputation of the line including the quality of each piece I design and handcraft, but also each and every customer that comes across my jewelry.
My designs are meant to be a Reflection of You. The beauty in each of us expressed in exquisitely handcrafted designs of sterling silver. The most important compliment I can receive is seeing women wearing my jewelry and returning for additional pieces.
